Life in Palm Beach County can feel like a dream. One place you might want to consider is Jupiter, Florida. It is in the far north of Palm Beach County and about an hour and a half drive from Miami. Like any other place, there are positives and negatives about living in Jupiter, Florida. This post will cover some of the pros and cons of living in this city in Palm Beach County.
One of the top pros to living in Jupiter is the beaches. The beach in Jupiter is one of the best and most pleasant in the state. It is also close to Juno Beach, which has another great beach. With its scenic shoreline, Jupiter is one of the top beach towns in the country.
There’s also Dubois Park. It is a great place to enjoy the water if you have younger children. The water is calm, so it is good for kids. The park also has a nearby picnic area and playground.
This city is also ideal if you like boating. You will find many homes with backyard docks for boats. You can go out the back door, navigate the channels, and be on the water in no time.
Jupiter is also a fisherman’s paradise. You are right on the ocean. Residents can take a boat out on the sea and cast a line at any time. You also have the many piers that are good for fishing off the coast. The area also has many fishing charters you can enjoy.
What makes all of this even better is the weather in South Florida. We have so many sunny days, and it never gets too cold to enjoy the outdoors. The highs during our winters are regularly in the mid-seventies.
One of the top cons for many is the summertime humidity. The air can feel a little thick during the summer. If you come from a drier area of the country, it might take some time to adapt.
Another issue for some people is that the area is a little more rural or suburban. Jupiter has excellent restaurants in areas like Harbourside Place, but the nightlife scene is almost nonexistent. If you want a lively area with nightlife, Jupiter probably isn’t the right place. However, you have places like Boca Raton and Delray Beach in the southern part of the county.
Hurricane season is another con. There is the risk of hurricanes each year. The highest risk is usually around September. People in the area have adapted to it as well as they can. However, it does mean our homeowner’s insurance tends to be a little more expensive.
