Lantana
This Palm Beach County community got its name (initially as Lantana Point) when the town postmaster noticed the wild Lantana flowers growing in abundance. The word point was later dropped from the title. Still, Lantana remains true to its name — a continuous bloom of colors amid the beauty of nature.
It is a small town situated south of Lake Worth, giving you access to the lagoon and the beach. Unlike other communities in Palm Beach, Lantana is best known for its nature preserve and more relaxed lifestyle.
The Lantana Nature Preserve and Hypoluxo Scrub Natural Area, in particular, are for those who love nature and animals. After exploring the scenic environment, you can kick back and relax at the community's highly rated resorts and inns.
If you are looking for a town with thriving marine life, there's no place like Lantana.
A growing attraction is the Lantana Bridge and its pier at the west. Anglers can have the opportunity to catch Largemouth Bass, Snook, Bluegill, and more. Nearby is the Old Key Lime House restaurant, a famous and historic joint serving locally caught fish and drinks.
Many locals spend their time at the Lantana Park Boat Ramp. Here, you can embark on a boat ride for a picturesque view of Palm Beach. Private charters are also available for those wishing to access offshore waters.
