Loxahatchee

Loxahatchee

Loxahatchee is a small community named after the river that flows from the Riverbend Park. And, it's no wonder because the river is breathtaking! The federal government even designated this Palm Beach County community as "Wild and Scenic River."

Loxahatchee is also described as the most rural area within West Palm Beach, and locals wear it with pride.

It has nature preserves, conservations centers, and parks for nature lovers. The most popular spot is Florida's only drive-through safari called Lion Country Safari. Here, you can see wild animals like rhinoceros, zebras, chimpanzees, and, of course, the titular lions.

Le Petite Cheval farm offers horse riding lessons, or you can marvel at show teams participating in local shows. You can also go to the Panther Ridge Conservation Center and spend the day learning about caracals, panthers, cougars, leopards, and cheetahs!

Get away from urban life when you move to Loxahatchee. J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area allows you to be as close to nature as possible — you can camp and hike away from the chaotic urban living!

Kayaking and padding are also popular activities for those who want a bit more excitement. Local establishments cater to rental needs for trips down the driver, so you will never have to haul your gear.
